Program Overview
The purpose of the Autism Certificate Program is to provide advanced, specialized training for individuals who work with K-12 pupils with autism spectrum disorders or provide other support services to children and adults with Autism. Although this program does not lead to licensure or academic credits, it enhances the knowledge and skills of undergraduate, graduate students, professionals who are employed in public school and clinical settings or the adult learner who wants to professionalize their support role.
The Autism Certificate Program is offered through Antioch University, Santa Barbara, California.

- The Autism Certificate Program consist of two Levels.
- The first level of certification is completed entirely online through our 8 course series. Courses must be taken in sequential order. Participants must pass the course assessments with at least a 90% pass criteria. There is no partial credit given. Each course included in this level of certification is approved for CEs by a range of professional boards including BACB, APA, CA-BBS, ASHA, and ACSI.
- The second level of certification consist of a 16 hour practicum. This practicum includes placement in a classroom setting or residential setting. Participants may choose their site.
- To complete the second level of certificate each student must demonstrate competency through in vivo observation and submission of a behavioral support plan.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Autism Certificate program:
- It is recommended that Applicants meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Hold professional licensure in special education, speech-language pathology, behavior analysis, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related areas.
- Employed in a public school or clinical setting.
- Undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited College or University.
- Providing support to an individual with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Tuition is $125 per credit. Credit for prior learning will be considered if any course was successfully completed within 12 months of registering for the Certificate Program. Discounts will apply accordingly.
- All three Steps in the registration process must be completed to be officially enrolled into the Certificate Program.

- Pre-register now for Fall Session and earn a $250.00 discount in tuition.

- Program Requirements
- Level 1 Certification - The program consists of 12 Continuing Education credits equivalent to 120 hours of study. In order to receive Level 1 all students must complete all of the courses successfully.
- Level 2 Certification - All students must be able to demonstrate they participated in 16 hours of practicum including at least 10 hours of providing support to individuals with Autism and submission of a behavioral support plan. These hours can be counted from the time of the initial enrollment into the Autism Certification Program - Level 1.
